The Spanish cinema has got a lot to offer all of the movie buffs out there. It is like the treasure that is yet to be discovered. They can change the course of global cinema. In this article, the top 15 Spanish movies on Netflix are listed for you, which is a must-watch.

#1 – Pan’s Labyrinth (2006)

The movie is set in the backdrop of WW II in Spain. Captain Vidal is a murdering sadist and has been appointed by the Allies in Spain. His stepdaughter is drawn towards the Pan’s Labyrinth. She has to perform three tasks to prove her royalty. 

#2 – The Secret in Their Eyes (2009)

The teenage daughter of Jess is killed. After thirteen years, FBI investigators, Ray and Jess, reopen the investigation of the murder. Ray uncovers some secrets, which will shock everyone.

#3 – Amores Perros (2000)

This Spanish series of Netflix focuses on three different stories that are intertwined after a single-car crash in Mexico. Octavio is in love with his sister-in-law, and they run away. Daniel starts living with Valeria, a supermodel. She loses her leg in a car accident and gets depressed. And El Chivo, who is a hitman.

The story is composed of six short segments, all of which have a different identity. All these small segments are not interrelated, but they have the common theme of violence and vengeance.

This is a Netflix Spanish series centered on Manuela. She is a nurse at a hospital in Madrid and is a transgender woman. Esteban, her teenage son, wants to become a professional writer. He got killed in a tragic car accident. She sets out to find his father. But later, she finds out that he has become a transvestite.

Ernesto and Alberto are two friends who are upcoming doctors. On the break before the last semester of their medical school, they take their motorcycles and decide to go on a road trip from Brazil to Peru. On this trip, they get to know the differences between the rich and the poor of society. Ernesto has a realization which changes his life forever.

Dr. Robert Ledgard is a skilled plastic surgeon. His wife dies after getting burned in a car accident. Ever since this tragedy, he is determined to find out a new graft skin for victims of burns. After 12 years, he invents a perfect skin and tries it on Vera, his prisoner.

A Spanish film student, Angela is doing a thesis on violence. Halfway through her research, she comes across a videotape. In the videotape, there was the recorded evidence of a girl who was brutally tortured until her death. Soon Angela discovers that the girl is a former student of her film school.

#13 – Y Tu Mama Tambien (2001)

The story talks about two teenage boys, Julio and Tenoch. Being 17 years old, they are full of energy, and their hormones are raging. During the summer, they go out on a trip with a beautiful older woman. Throughout that trip, they get to learn about themselves, life, and the world around them.

Biutiful talks about a man Uxbal and his life. Uxbal is a common man with some extraordinary qualities. He can see his death, and this ability changes the course of the movie.

#15 – Even the Rain (2010)

The Netflix Spanish series shows the story of two Mexican filmmakers Sebastian and Costa. They were shooting a movie in Bolivia. Halfway through the shooting of the film, the schedule gets disturbed because of the initiation of the Cochabamba protest in the area. The tension between the crew members and the riots increases as time passes.
