What is the reason for the cancellation?

While Netflix hasn’t made an official statement regarding the cancellation of the series, it is speculated, that ‘Dash and Lily,’ along with another critically acclaimed Netflix original series ‘I am Not Okay with This’ were canceled because of the pandemic and low viewership. ‘I am Not Okay with This,’ which is adapted from Charles Forsman’s graphic novel of the same name, was renewed for a second season but was later canceled due to the pandemic.

In an interview with Collider in August, series producer Shawn Levy expressed concern about the show’s return. He exclaimed that even though the show was a critical success and had won many awards, enough people didn’t watch the show and that can result in cancellation, in the streaming age.
