A new Night of the Living Dead 2 teaser suggests that Lori Cardillo, Terry Alexander, and Jarlath Conroy, three survivors from George Romero’s Day of the Dead, will reprise their roles in the unofficial sequel. These new cast members are significant because they could suggest that the Day of the Dead survivors would return as the same characters they previously played.

There has been no official confirmation that the trio will be reprising their roles in Day of the Dead, but it would be an odd choice to foreshadow the return of Day of the Dead survivors if Night of the Living Dead 2 did not intend to reuse their characters.
How did they make the teaser even more interesting?
To add to the intrigue, the official synopsis for Night of the Living Dead 2 places the film on an island that is assaulted by the undead. It would make perfect sense for Cardille, Alexander, and Conroy to reprise their roles as Dr. Sarah Bowman, John “Flyboy,” and William “Bill” McDermott, respectively. The trio escaped the horrors of Day of the Dead by taking a chopper to a barren island.
