Ruth Lorenzo, who famously danced in the rain at the Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen in 2014, securing one of Spain’s best results in years, is set to play a pivotal role in Spain’s Eurovision selection once again. This time, she will take on the role of host for Benidorm Fest 2024.
Ruth will share her hosting duties with Marc Calderó and Ana Prada, who will be stationed in the Green Room alongside the competing artists. Inés Hernand, who previously held that role, will now host the after-show segment with Aitor Albizua.
“I’m so excited to be a part of Benidorm Fest this year, especially given that it marks the tenth anniversary of my Eurovision participation,” Ruth expressed. She admitted to feeling nervous about the show but is eager to connect with the Eurovision audience and solidify her presence at Benidorm Fest.

Ruth has had a long-standing association with Benidorm Fest, having participated in various capacities in previous editions. She played a pivotal role in the contest’s inception, performing at the initial press conference when it was announced. In 2022, she delivered a spectacular interval act during the live show.
Last year, Ruth hosted “Cover Night,” an RTVE show that featured Eurovision 2022 star Chanel as part of the jury. Additionally, she served as Spain’s spokesperson at Eurovision 2023, delivering the country’s votes from the picturesque beach of Benidorm.
Benidorm Fest 2024 will consist of three shows, scheduled for January 30, February 1, and February 3. RTVE will complement the televised galas with several online shows and a televised program following each gala, all hosted by Inés Hernand alongside Aitor Albizua on TV and Jordi Cruz online.

Furthermore, a special edition of the podcast “La Pija y La Quinqui,” presented by influential podcasters Carlos Peguer and Mariang Maturana, will cover Benidorm Fest 2024. Their previous interviews, including one with Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, have marked milestones in Spanish political discourse.
Notably, Benidorm Fest 2024 brings a fresh stage design, featuring a round shape with two distinctive “tunnels” at the sides. The primary stage spans 581 square meters, accompanied by a secondary one for the green room, jury, and hosts. Organizers promise “meaningful innovations” in the stage setup and have provided artists with more rehearsal time to ensure a spectacular show.
With Ruth Lorenzo at the helm and a captivating stage design, Benidorm Fest 2024 is poised to be a memorable celebration of music and talent, as Spain looks forward to selecting its next Eurovision representative.
