Late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel has taken a strong stance against NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers after Rodgers hinted at Kimmel’s potential involvement with the disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein. Kimmel has threatened legal action in response to the allegations made during Rodgers’ recent appearance on the Pat McAfee Show.
Rodgers’ controversial remarks came in response to the impending release of a list containing nearly 200 names connected to Epstein, including associates, former employees, and individuals who had flown on his private planes. These individuals have, until now, remained anonymous in court documents, referred to only as John and Jane Does.
During the podcast interview, Rodgers commented, “There’s a lot of people, including Jimmy Kimmel, who are really hoping [the list] doesn’t come out. … I’ll tell you what, if that list comes out, I’ll definitely be popping some sort of bottle.” These comments have sparked outrage and concern, prompting Kimmel to take a strong stance in his defense.
Responding on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Kimmel wrote, “Dear A**hole: for the record, I’ve not met, flown with, visited, or had any contact whatsoever with Epstein, nor will you find my name on any ‘list’ other than the clearly-phony nonsense that soft-brained wackos like yourself can’t seem to distinguish from reality. Your reckless words put my family in danger. Keep it up, and we will debate the facts further in court.”

It appears that Rodgers’ remarks were a reaction to a joke Kimmel made on his late-night show last year, following Rodgers’ discussion of the Epstein list and UFOs on a previous episode of the Pat McAfee Show.
The controversy surrounding the potential release of the list of Epstein associates and individuals connected to his activities has reignited interest in the high-profile case. Jeffrey Epstein, a wealthy financier and convicted sex offender, passed away by suicide in August 2019 while in federal custody, awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s former associate and girlfriend, was convicted in December 2021 of aiding Epstein in recruiting and sexually abusing underage girls. She is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence.
