Peacock has published a new trailer for Season 2 of Departure, their original mystery thriller about a disappearing airliner. Season 2 of Departure will provide Kendra Malley (Archie Panjabi) and her team with a fresh problem to solve when they are recruited to investigate another transportation accident.
Departure is a suspense drama television series commissioned by Global in 2019. The series began on Universal TV on July 10, 2019, with the Canadian premiere set for October 8, 2020, on Global. The sitcom got renewed for a second season on September 11, 2020. The series chronicles the fictional Transport Safety and Investigations Bureau’s inquiry into the disappearance of a British passenger airliner over the Atlantic Ocean and its reasons.

What do we get to see in the trailer of season 2?
The trailer introduces us to Departure’s latest case, in which Kendra and her team must investigate a railway catastrophe that killed 60 people while releasing a dangerous criminal being transferred by the FBI. The teaser also reveals that Kendra will have to battle the FBI on her road to solving the mystery as jurisdictional issues arise. It also appears that some powerful people are behind the disaster, which may present additional challenges for Kendra in her efforts to bring the culpable parties to justice.

Where did the shootings of the first season take place?
In 2018, filming took conducted in many Ontario cities, including Cambridge, Hamilton, and Toronto. In Cambridge, the city hall served as a stand-in for Scotland Yard and Cambridge University. Filming was relocated to London, England, in January 2019. The principal photography took 40 days to complete.

Departure has been renewed for a second season, which will begin on September 11, 2020. By September 20 2020, production was well beginning, with the second season featuring an investigation into the crash of an automated high-speed train travelling from Toronto to Chicago. Plummer and Panjabi were set to reprise their roles as leads. According to a narrative synopsis, the series will centre on the investigation of an accident that results in several deaths and a network of potential suspects.
