On September 19th, comedian Rob Schneider took to Twitter to announce his sitcom ‘Real Rob’ for the third season. In the tweet, Schneider also remarks that the show will start shooting in 2022 and Real Rob Season 3 will most likely release in 2023.
‘Real Rob’ is created, produced, and stars Schneider and first premiered on Netflix in 2015 when the streaming platform giant was in its nascent stages. The second season of the show was released in 2017, after which the show’s creator announced the return of the show in 2019 in now-deleted tweets. The popular website, ‘What’s on Netflix,’ in their 2019 article, mentioned the comedian’s deleted tweets where he confirmed the return of the show in 2019 and proceeded to drop the trailer soon.
The show is written by Schneider, Patricia Schneider, and Jamie Lissow and follows the exploits of a fictionalized version of Schneider. Patricia Schneider, his wife, and Miranda Schneider, their daughter, also star in the show as fictional versions of themselves. Taking a leaf out of other similar shows by comics like Louie CK and Aziz Ansari, ‘Real Rob’ is also based on the life of Schneider. However, the show is packaged in a more standard traditional sitcom format.
