The Apple TV+ musical comedy starring Cecily John and Keegan Michael-Key. The story centers around the life of our couple Melissa and Josh, who are going through some ups and downs in their relationship.
To bring back the zing in their relationship, they go to a reaffirming couple’s hike where they land up in a quirky town of Schmigadoon, where the life of the people seems to be stuck in 194s Hollywood musical. As they try to find a way out of the unusual characters of the town and return to their normal life, they go through a series of changes altering their way of thinking completely. The condition for them to leave the town is simple, and they have to find true love.
The co-creator and songwriter Cinco Paul along talked over zoom how personal this project was for him. He elaborated in his interview about his love for old-style Hollywood music and the joy this work brought to him as he reminiscence about his first effort in songwriting.
