Rick and Morty is an adult animated science fiction sitcom created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon for Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim evening programming block. The plot revolves around the antics of sarcastic mad scientist Rick Sanchez and his good-hearted but worried grandson Morty Smith, who divide their time between household life and interdimensional adventures.
What is the plot of the show?
The comedy follows the exploits of the Smith family, which includes Jerry and Beth, their daughters Summer and Morty, and Beth’s father, Rick Sanchez, who lives with them as a guest. Rick is an eccentric and drunken mad scientist who rejects many conventional norms such as school, marriage, love, and family. He frequently goes on adventures with Morty, his 14-year-old grandson, a sweet but easily irritated child whose innocent but grounded moral compass provides a counterpoint to Rick’s Machiavellian ego.
